This is an album of 1960-1970 high school memories, where memories come from their school years in Aetoliko.

The "Gymnasiaki Kronia in Aetolikos" is a book station for the Aetolikitian period and necessary for every Aetoliki house and not only (Gouria, Stamna, Chrysovergi, Angelokastro, Moussoura, Neochori, Ocotia, Agios Elias and other villages participated in the then high school).

The success of the first Volume 1946-1959 released at the beginning of 2002 gave rise to the release of a new album over the next decade (1960-1970).

Thus, the "Gymnasiaki Chronia in Aetoliko" was published by 2006, edited by Nikos Georgiou, where the reader can travel to the halls and courtyards of Aitoliko's schools of the 60. Rare photographs and a detailed recording that will give the reader the chance to comprehend and, inevitably, compare.

The 1950-1960-2002-90-edition of the XYNUMX-XNUMX Gymnastics XMUMX-XNUMX edition of the volume, with the initiative and enormous leverage of the well-known scientist and friend Panos Lyra and his collaborators, has been a bold and pioneering step not only for our region but also for the wider. In XNUMX, his work is imprinted with vigor, penetration, grace and sincerity of ten years of fruitful and creative operation and offer of Gymnasio Aitolikos as well as to a great extent the social life of the seashofileli of the state that hosts it with love and affection.

The publication of the second volume with the same title but for the 1960-1970 decade demonstrates the accuracy and correctness of the original concept, and still that there are still people with disinterest, passion and high sense of social responsibility. The second volume, which includes 130 works by teachers and pupils and rich photographic material, is credited with the same qualities as the first one (good structure, fullness, lingual temperament), but it is much larger. I believe correctly and appropriately refers to the new educational level of the Lyceum and even more systematically not only in the outgoing social atmosphere of the host city but also of our country in general. This association with the narrowest and wider social realm, when this has been marked by events of decisive importance for the decades that followed, is a very positive element for the new volume.

We conclude with a poem about Aitolikos that the book makers chose to embellish the back cover and which perfectly closes this reader's tour in a different era of this particular city.

The lagoon orgasm,
a waterborne birth
is our place, Aetolikos,
and we, laughter and salt,
emerald tufts and flares,
its two stone bridges
with myths and paths
in the east and west,
the anemones of the watershed
and seabirds ...

And as long as the peach is holding
in the saltwashes at dawn,
and as long as the lilacs hold
in the west the hills,
so we, we keep in his life.
