A fast, economical and traditional dessert that is made everywhere, but in every place in its own unique way ...

Rabban, therefore, is an exquisite example of a poor kitchen - cucina povera, as the Italians say - which with simple materials, found in every household, is very close to the gathering of relatives and friends.

1 kg of oil
1300 grams of water
800 grams of sugar
1 kilo flour
1 kilo semolina fine
a pinch of salt
Lemon, sesame, almonds or cloves

In a saucepan, put the oil, water, sugar, honey, salt and some lemon zest. Once boiled, add the flour a little while stirring well to soak. Then add the semolina in the same way. Once it has thickened it is removed from the fire. Grease the 1 baking pan well and add sesame, add the whole dough to a well with a wooden spoon, cut into pieces, add some sesame seeds and put each piece of an almond cooked or nailed with a clove. Then put it in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 1 hour and something. After cooling down, we can sprinkle it with a little crystalline sugar.

Ideally, for extra enjoyment, we want the crust to be created at the top of the sweets to become crisp!

Good luck, enjoy it responsibly!
